Walks

Horse Riding

Motor Cruises

Sailing

  • Cruises from Vilamoura include half days along the coast, full days with lunch to Lagos and back, and catamaran cruises with barbeque
  • From Portimao, on the "Alegria", a 20 metre wooden motor vessel 3 and 4 hour cruises which may include barbeque lunch.
  • River cruise along the Guadiana River, between Portugal and Spain, lunch in an Algarve village.  Transport from major hotels.
  • From Vilamoura, on the catamaran "Vital" and the sailing cutter "The Condor" half day and full day cruises.
  • From Albufeira on the catamaran "Jaguar" full day and short "ecological" and "sunset" cruises.
  • From Portimao, on the 50 feet sailing cutter "Leaozinho", half day and full day cruises.

Barbeque included on full day cruises.

Surfing

Scuba Diving

The West Algarve coast is ideal to go surfing.

At the Algarve Surf School and Camp, south of Carrapateira, you find fully trained instructors approved by the Portuguese Surfing Federation.  They offer courses for all levels from beginner to expert and "Surf Safaris".  Equipment can be hired at the beach.  Accommodation available at Surf Camp.

There are several possibilities to dive in the Algarve.

The Torpedo Diving Club, based at Vilamoura, offers a 3-day beginner's course.  (Languages spoken English, German and Portugese.)  For further information, please contact our Enquiry Desk.

Atlantic Diving, based at Albufeira, runs courses from beginner to Master Scuba Diving certification.  Equipment is supplied and staff is multilingual (English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese).  Dive charter trips are available on most days.

Dives along the Algarve and north coast with Pinguim Sub in Portimao.  Day and night dives, offshore, wrecks, cave and deep dives.  Equipment for hire.

Fishing

Reef Fishing
  • From Vilamoura, full or half day fishing on the catamarans "Puma" or "Lince".
  • From Portimao, on the "Alegria", four hours fishing, spectators welcome.

Big Game Fishing

  • From Vilamoura, Top Fish's yachts, "Top Norte" or "Rascasso" (10 metres) and Cruzeiros de Vilamoura's yacht "Caçador Azul" (12 metres).  Full and half day.

Boats are fully rigged, with professional operators and safety equipment.  Lunches can be ordered.  Spectators fee is available.
